hi everyone. i recently joined this forum and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on humidity.

ive just purchaced a beautiful baby suriname bci yesterday and i have researched them as much as i can, but it seems everyone says something different. he's only about 6 or 7 weeks old and i wanna make sure that he is as comfortable as possible. ive heard to keep him at 20-30% all the way to 80-90%. i have been keeping him at about 45-50% cause it seemed to be in the middle of what most people said. during the day, he stays at about 80-85 and then at night i dropped him down to about 70-75.

if anybody has any suggestions on anthing i should be doing for him, or anything that im doing wrong, i would appreciate the help.

he seems to be a very friendly happy snake and i dont want to do anything to uspet that.

Your suri will do fine with 50% humidity, just raise the humidity a bit by spraying them when they are getting ready to shed. I would also raise the warm spot to 90-93 degrees, and a night time temp drop is not needed. Welcome to the site and Suriname's are bcc.

thanks foman. i needed the reassurance on that. right now im using newspaper as substrate and i put a small bowl with some moss in it to keep it humid enough for him, until his custom tank is ready.
his warm side of the tank is about 87-88 with basking at 92-93 and the cool end is about 78-80, he seems to be doing fine with that, and i also got a laser temp regulator just to make sure his temps dont go higher or drop too low.
oh and thanks for the info about bcc, i get confused sometimes.
