how do you make your ball python gain weight. i know feeding it but i mean how do you get it to eat for you a lot inorder to gain weight.

If you animal will eat pre killed, try packing the rats with Enfamil baby formula. Those are easily digested and usable proteins. Very little of it will go to waste out the other end.

I just feed small rats and therefore they usually eat more often. My male Neo fasted for 3 months which ended in February. He was 846 grams then and now he's around 1100 grams empty. He pounds small rats (80-90grams) every seven days like clockwork.

Just feed them, if they are eating consistently they will gain weight. If you power feed them they are likely to become obese, you don't want a fat snake.

some snakes will go through a period of not eating much, therefore not gaining much weight. Most of my BP do this around this time of year, especially if they just came off of fasting. But come middle of the summer and closer to breeding season, they will feed lots and pack on the weight wether you are going to cool them or not. So I wouldn't worry about it, it all evens out, and like nita says, don't power feed. Let us know how things go.

i wastold to feed her right after she poops. you know like the next day or so. Have anybody done this before. i mean im in no rush but i just want it to be heathy and be a nice thick snake. also SCReptiles I do feed her prekilled but have you ever tried packing the rats with Enfamil baby formula before. or anybdy else tried this before. one more thing i should have probably added is that she eats two adult mice every 7 days. but sometimes she only eats one. but how can i switch her over to rats ive tried scenting it but thats about it i also tried throwing a live rat pup and nothing pleae give me advise.
