Just wondering what would make a good setup for a GTP baby...

size/type of enclosure?
substrate?
humidity level?
etc...

Also -- is there any good books out there on GTPs? Don't think that I've seen anything...

Thanks :)
Jen

We put our baby GTPs in tall rubbermaid with a drain in the bottom. We have 2 perches, one lower the other higher with a heat cord through it. The cord is set up to a reostat to regulate te temp. We spray them at night and when the too much water accumulates at the bottom or when they defecates, we simply drain it out. We set up a rack that holds about 20 babies. Hope that helps:)

How do you have the perches set up? Do they go straight though the rubbermaids, or are they attached to the walls of the container somehow?

Where do you get the heat cord? I've never heard of anything like that... Just heat tape, and heat pads...

http://www.barrs.com the 16 x 16 x 20 makes GREAT cage for small arboreals and will last then 1 - even 2 years... and they are cheap :)

Thanks Jeff :)

That DOES look like a perfect cage for a baby... wouldn't it end up costing me almost $200 by the time I got it here though? $75, plus the exchange, plus shipping, plus duty....

Have you ordered from them before? How bad was the shipping and duty?

yeah yuor right it came to about 200$ when i ordered mine, but it has served its purpose greatly :) if i was in the states i would strictly use these for all arboreals, they are wonderfull plus you can use over heat ceramic heat with them, which is the best for arboreals, IMO
