Seeing we are smack dab in the middle of the laying season I thought I would post some recent pics of eggs.

I've always wanted to get a good egg candling shot and this one seems to tell the tale nicely.

This clutch was just laid this weekend. It had 7 normal good eggs and one very small 50 gram egg. It is fertile but I highly doubt it will go full term.

Some people have questioned whether or not bad eggs will affect good eggs when they go bad. This egg is 30 days into incubation. I have had several infertile eggs mold like this without affecting the good ones.

Thanks for looking!

WOW, haha my bio major is kickin in ahha maybe the fertile eggs have an enzyme coat or something, that helps protect against infections and such, since it is possible for this to happen in the wild. hmmmmm that would be a good thesis for grad school.

snakehunter: snake eggs actually do have some sort of anti-bacterial coating given to them by the mother when she lays them.
