**** Due to sale not going through, this chondro is for sale again... If you emailed me before, please email again :)

Hello!

I have a beautiful Aru X Biak 2 year old female.. However, my job is going to have me moving a lot and I would like to sell her before she ends up feeling the stresses of moving..

I have a few questions..

1) How much should I ask for her?? She is beautiful (Ill post pics) about 3.5 feet long, definate female, Nice mustard yellow / light green. 2 years old.

2) WHERE should I sell her. The problem is she is pet store bought.. Although, it is one of the most renowned pet stores reptile wise in the world (The East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley, Ca.)

Most chondro sites will only let you sell animals with proven breeders papers.

Here are some pics of her:

Thanks for all your help!

You could try posting in the classifieds on some sites. You might want to try ChondroWeb.com. I'm not up to date on the rules for the classifieds there, but I'm pretty sure that as long as you represent the animal honestly (i.e. admit that you don't know the breeder or anything else the future buyer might need to know) they do not mind if there are papers or not. As far as an asking price goes, I'm thinking probably in the $600-$700 range. In the end the price is up to you, just don't make it too outrageous.:p

Actually, Chondrweb is the site that requires breeder certification...

And I think king###### makes you pay to place the classifieds.. or you need some sort of special acct...

You could try Fauna Classifieds.

have you tried here.. lol... post it in the classifieds here.. id say maybe a little more than 700.. the average price for a baby is 750-800.. so id say colser to 800-900.. thats in canadian funds though...

but your best bet is to look at other adds for similar animals and go by that. I would say that 700 is a bit much. lately I've seen adult CBB GTPs selling for a low a 250.00 most adults unless they are something special have been listed for from 3 to 500 bucks. If you need to get rid of it quick then post a lower price if not post what you want. I saw one recently that was a nice animal that took weeks to sell for 250. So as they say it's worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Peterm, I would think you can have one shipped from the US. they are not as hard to keep as some would make it seem. If you get a well started baby or a sub adult and set it up right they are not any harder to keep then any other snake. Same goes for Emeralds they are not as hard to keep as most think they are.

I think a lot of the myth behind keeping these guys comes from WC animals that can be tougher to establish than some other snakes. Like any animal give them what they need and they'll do alright.

So true.. The captive bread GTPs are not hard to keep at all..

I think that, since GTPs were wild caught and full of probelms as a result of that for so long, they still have that stigma.

this GTP was my FIRST snake, (not first GTP, first snake period!)and she is great!

Rocketjawa here's my first chondro, he's over 6 now. I've kept Emeralds for a long time but saw this guy and just had to have him. In this photo he is close to shed so looks darker(was the only Pic I had small enough to post here) most the time he looks a brighter yellow,Still looking for a good date for him. Those that have Mustards are not willing to part with them so the search for a female for this guy continues. If you have more photos of yours post some here i'd like to see them.

Rocketjawa- I checked Chondroweb and it says in the classifieds policy post that you only need breeder certification/ documentation if you claim the animal you are trying to sell is locality specific (i.e. aru, biak, etc.). If you put in your post that it is an aru-type x biak-type, than I don't see any reason why you couldn't post it. By putting the word "type" on the end you are implying that the animal is the offspring of a pair of chondros that only show the outward appearence of the local and were not actually collected with documentation.
