Hi, how you guys doing.

Just a quick question.

Recenty, for the past few days, my cal king has been out of his hiding spot, and in his water bowl.

His about 50% in his water dish, with his head out and isn't really active.

And he shed about 2 days ago.

Is this normal? Is there a reason why his not hiding/sleeping?

And another thing is the water dish is on the heater, so I guess it makes the water kid of warm, maybe he like this? Does it matter if the water dish is on the 'warm side' or should i move it to the cold side?

Thanks in advance

check for mites.

Several things may be causing your snake to seek refuge in the water dish, including mites, lack of humidity, and improper temperatures. A careful examination of your snake and its environment will be able to rule out or confirm the above.

I would recomend moving the water dish to the cool side. I always suggest the water there. Would you rather have a drink of warm water or cool water? Snake probably likes it cooler too as well as being able to have a bath to cool down. Chances are the snake is just soaking to rehydrate some after shedding, but as others have suggested watch for mites etc. Mark

Thanks for the help guys.
Accepted all suggestions.

It turned out that my snake was just rehydrating after shedding, because he went back into his hiding spotafter 2 days.
I have changed his bedding, and moved the water dish to the cooler side.
