Leo Gecko breeders Please Read, important ?'s

hey i just bought a male albino sub adult and a regular female sub adult today to try and breed them and this is my first time so im still learning. what kind of behavior should i be seeing, cuz they are kinda fighting, like biting each other i dont know if this is normal or not but i need to know so i wont worry about it, she bit his face and theres a cut on his face now..... im in the process of making them another temporary hide box so they can be away from each other if they want. the female is larger than the male will that be a problem ?? i got a manual but it doesnt explain much about the behavior. right now they arent fighting and the female is kinda laying on the males tail ...... someone please help

A SUB-adult female should not be bred. Sub-adult is like a young teenager. I'd remove her fast, maybe it's not too late.
Some chasing and snipping at each other is normal, but rough play isn't, suggesting she's not in the least interested nor ready (of course it could be 2 males too, maybe one is younger than you think and not accurately sexable yet). Please remove the female, let her grow up a few more months.

Ok first off how old and how much do they weigh. This is the most important thing in breeding Leopard Geckos. If they are too young or small by trying to breed them now could be detrimential to their health. Also be certain that you do in fact have a male and a female and not two males as they will fight sometimes to the death. Now to get past this first warning I will answer your question. You may see some form of 'fighting' but as long as none of the geckos are getting hurt it should stop very soon but be sure to keep an eye on it. When geckos are ready to breed you should introduce the geckos (it shouldn't matter male to female of vice-versa as both have worked for me). The male may find a higher location in the tank to find the female (not always) and it is not unusual for him to lick the air frantically trying to locate the female. Once he spots her he will vibrate his tail very fast and will priduce a low buzzing sound. If the female does not want to breed she will stand high on all four legs and either run away or become hostile. If she is receptive she will stay in position and the male will make some juttery movements over her body and then 'bite' his way up to her head. This is to keep her in position. At this time the female will gape her cloaca and the male will insert his hemipene and mating will take place. Once this is done the female will usually leave and the male will lick clean his hemipene and then return to hiding or whatever.

she is almost 60 grams
male is almost around 45
male is probably 1 - 1 1/2 years old

the male seems kinda scared of the female just hiding in the hide and the female is running around

yeah i think so i bought them from www.undergroundreptiles.com their store by where i live, and the guy there told me the approx ages. is it normal that the male seems kinda scared of the female cuz she bit his face or her size, and the female is crawling around non stop thanks for the help i really want to get into this and i appreciate it

I would say just let them sort our their differences (lol). There really isn't that much you can do at this point to make them get along. If you find that in the next few days things aren't getting any better then seperate them and leave them for a week and try again.

can someone tell me what kind of albino this is , tremper, bell or rainwater ?? heres a closer pic below.

and also how long does it take before you can tell when the 2 have mated, cuz im not here to watch all the time so what are some signs that i can look for to tell if they have done the deed LOL

I'm not positive on the morph you have there because I got out of albinos because I was more interested in Tangerines at the time. I would guess however that you have a Tremper because they are the most common albino morph out there and the pattern and colors are very similar to the Tremper morph I had before. You will be able to see the the eggs starting to develop through the thin stomach wall on the underside of the gecko as it gets closer to egg laying time. Because it is her first year it could take 3 to 6 weeks for her to lay but about 1-1.5 weeks prior to laying you should be able to see the eggs.

ok i know im posting a lot but im just trying to learn as much as i can, but heres another ques.

is it possible that my male doesnt want to mate, cuz the male doesnt do anything it just sits there while the female is out and crawling around and trying to climb the walls like shes horny or something LOL thanks in advance

It is quite possible that the male does not want to mate. My male has been a pain in the butt to get to mate with my females and so far he has only mated with one. It could also be that you have not seen the male attempt to breed and the female was defensive about mating at this time. I would say leave them for a bit and if nothing happens sperate them for a week or two and then reintroduce them. This might trigger something where both animals feel comfortable enough to mate. It also might be that they are still a little stressed out from being purchased. Just give it time and they will mate.
