Hey all, I was thinking of getting a lizard now that my dad decided he doesn't want a snake in the house (its like the same thing only with legs LOL) and since I plan on living here I have to follow the rules.

I looked all over to find a cool lizard thet I like, don't like geckos cause they look like someones acid trip... those huge eyes freak me out, and most of them are fast moving. Iguanas are just plain way too big when they mature. And the blue tongue skink seems like my kind of pet, slow moving, they don't get too big, and they don't seem to be too much of a hassle to house. The only problem is I don't know much about these lizards, I need a very good care sheet thats hopefully online with pictures of the different variations of colors and patterns that they come in, and I need to know if these lizards can be purchased in the toronto area, prefereably from a breeder. And a price range from lowest to highest, in other words from the most common the the rarest, so I get an idea of the prices that it can range from.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post.

The best and most comprehensive caresheet you'll find (and a good forum as well) is: www.bluetongueskinks.net

It's a shame you can't find such detailed caresheets for all herps!

I have two blueys (working on getting a third and maybe a 4th when the breeders on that site start having babies). They are great pets. Only problem is you'll have a hard time stopping at one. :)

I have an Irian Jaya Blue tongued skink that's been with me over five years. Great lizards! I find them very easy to care for. The site Tigergenesis gave you is a good one. Check it out.

In the classifieds section on the above site, we have a list of the forum breeders and what they are working on for this year. John is in Canada and is working on Northern's. His screen name is "Pink T. Monkey". If you do a search for posts from that member you can work your way to his profiel and PM him from there. He might also know of other breeders as well.
