I have a male ball that is constantly cruising at night; looking for a way to escape. Presently he is also refusing to eat. My other 3 balls that live in the same rack stay in their hides with only their heads sticking out and are eating. All 4 rubbermaids are the same temps, humidity and have a couple of hides each. Is this just what he likes doing or is there something I should look at?
Thanks, Paul.

He is looking for a girlfriend I bet!
i was about to ask a similar question. my male royal has suddenly changed his normal behaviour pattern and now from early evening onwards he is constantly searching his viv. hes quite flighty as well, moves furniture about etc etc. i did think he might be looking to mate but hes not even a year old yet.

balll pythons are nocturnal. They are active at night. It's the time of year when some balls do not eat.

He just ate; now I don't have anything to worry about. Can't be happy if there is nothing to worry about. Maybe that's the attraction, the highs and lows of ball python ownership.

congradulations on him eating, balls will sometimes drive you crazy, but they know what they are doing and everything works out.
