Can anyone please tell me the proven colour variations of western hogs?
Perhaps you might have pics or links to sites that show them as well.
thanks

i believe that the only proven morphs are albino, pink pastel albino, and maybe hypo. i think the color phases like red and green are linebred. there may be a leucistic out there, im not sure, but if so, its not proven yet. ive also heard some people talk about breeding a "striped" morph, but i havent seen it and i dont know as to its inheritability.

The leucistics are proven, but all were seized by Colorado wildlife officers......as far as I know. Anyone that had offspring, regardless of where they lived, could also be charged.

Just curious, what was the reason for the seizure?
yea why seize a morph and not the rest of them?
from my understanding, it originated as a wild caught hog that was collected illegally. any offspring from this hog was also deemed illegal and whomever was sold the babies was turned over the wildlife commission who seized those too.
What's a "Jungle" hognose?

i believe it is an oddly patterned hog, not genetically proven. i havent seen picks.
go to http://www.albinohognose.com/ they have a pic of the jungle phase there along with a lot of other pics. I think I should rephrase my question... Is a jungle hog a western hog? They're fresh lookin they remind me of a rattlesnake.
