Hi - hope your snake is ok now? I have no experience of this but I have been reading about it as my sinaloan refused her last feed.

Its apparently common for them to refuse feeds for several weeks esp when it gets to the start of the breeding season when they start prowling round looking for a mate or somewhere to lay eggs. It's not worth worrying about unless they are obviously losing weight.

Generally, you shouldn't feed bits of meat as a snake needs the whole animal to stay healthy but I doubt one ocession will do much harm.

Can you post to say whether the snake feeds ok now? I might well be getting worried if mine goes a month, in spite of the advice above lol

A lot of how long they can go without feeding depends on age and temperature. Adults can go months - our males don't eat from when they come out of brumation until after breeding season. Babies can even last a couple months without food if they are well hydrated.

Chicken pieces are not an acceptable diet - but you might try offering a smaller than normal prey item. Also consider whether the snake is in a shed cycle - out cal kings will eat even when shedding, but many snakes don't like to be disturbed then and refuse food.

i dont know which is which. it doesnt look like her poop. her poop has white and black stuf in it and what goes on my hand is more a thin white translucent-ish kind of stuff. once before it had something chunky in it. what exactly is musking? what they do when they are scared??
i dont want to scare her. i guess i should start taking her out once a day so she gets used to it!?
