...here in the Tampa Bay area..
Sat. I went to a nearby trail to look for herps but had hoped for an eastern diamondback.
On the first trail I spotted this guy

Funny thing is.. this pic is from Sun! That's right, when my son and I returned on Sun, Russ saw the same little juvenile FL.water moccassin not too far from where I spotted him on Sat.
On the way home Sat. I saw this little guy about to cross a busy road. Well, I got my diamondback! Only it was this baby ornate diamondback terrapin. Rare to see one around here these days.

At another park close by we also saw a few common herps to photo.
A young FL water snake in the bright sun.
