I have 2 females that are the same age..about 7-8 months. Is it OK for them to live together? If so what is a good size enclosure for them to be in.

Thanks

yeah, they'll be fine....... you can house a couple dragons together no problem as long as there simalar in size and there aren't 2 males in the same tank. I have my 2 dragons in a 75 gallon tank and they seem to have plenty of room....... I may move them up to something bigger soon, but that's just cuzz I want them to have as much space as possible and because I may add another female in there too. just make sure to have more then one basking spot. And if your going to build an enclosure I would suggest going with 4'x2'x2'..... that's a little bigger then a 75 gallon tank and they'll be room for another dragon later on if you ever decide to get a male.

A 40 gallon Breeder tank is the size I would recommend.

I think that would be the minimum for 2 adults....... you see them allot more active when there given room to play and enjoy themselves.

At the same time, most of my dragons will sit in the same spot all day and move around very little. At times they are active, and that is when I let them run around my herp room. I'll probably get slammed for this, but I don't see why you couldn't keep an adult in a 20 long provided you have the time to give it plenty of exercise. Yes, I have done this, and the lizard got along just fine.

I also let my beardies run around my room all the time. When I am cleaning cages. They seem to be real happy when out exploring. Once back in there cage they sleep under the basking lamps. Tried little beardies

Mine seem to be pretty active..... More with the female then the male, she's always running around and digging. They don't get as much run around time though outside of the cage.... by the time I get home there lights are off or pretty close to it, I only really get to spend time with them on weekends. But if you have the space and there not just for breeding, why not give them a little extra room???? Maybe that's just me.... but then again, I only have 2 dragons and a 4 month old snake so I guess I can understand limiting the sizes of the enclosures when you have 20 (or more) of them to keep up with like many people here do. I myself am already thinking about what to get at the next show......

Uffern, I'm not going to slam you, but there's more to cage size than room to run around. Try sitting in a closet and reading for a few hours. Most folks can't do it, they start feeling sleepy and headachey from the air getting progressively more stale.

Beardies don't throw out as much carbon dioxide as we do, but still need a decent amount of space around them to insure they are getting enough fresh air and no stresses are put on lungs and liver to help clean up the blood due to excess CO2 buildup. A 20 gallon with a screen top doesn't promote fresh air circulation well enough for an adult dragon.

A good rule of thumb is 4 square feet of floor space per beardie, whether they are highly active or branch potatoes.
