Hi, I am trying to make up my mind concerning whether to get a pygmy chameleon or a carpet chameleon. Could someone please tell me which is easier to take care of? Also a care sheet on Carpet chameleons would be halpful (Preferable someone who has a carpet chameleon and has had experience with caring for one). The last thing it a local pet shop of mine is selling a pair of carpet chameleons for $450. I was wondering if anyone else is selling any and for a cheaper price?

Thank You

Asside from a smaller area needed and smaller food items i treat my carpet just like my panthers. But they are way more shy then panthers at least from all i have heard and my short experience with mine( only had a few months) Not a chameleons that likes to be bothered that is for sure.

As for pigmys keeping them cool is a chore and worrie in the summer, as well is fining small food items some times. other then that i found them no different then other chamleeons.

I think the choice here is how much u want to spend and witch chameleon you like better.

as for care sheets check out these sites for caresheets.

I regard them as 'mini' panthers. They are beautiful but smaller. You could probably find cb's of thems omewhere in Canada if you really looked, but again wc is not a good choice.

I think that price is good if they are CB chams if they are WC i think it is high.

Yea the females have awsome colour too dont they.
That would be an awsome breeding project.
Good luck in your search for a female.

They are named 'carpet' chameleons because the females gravid colouration is astoundingly gorgious. Looks a lot like a rich expensive carpet. If anyone ever gets a female gravid, take a pic!
