I'm trying to find a decent hide for my Coastal Carpet Python. Right now she has a styrofoad enclosure that I think looks hideous. My ball pythons have these nice eco-terra hides that look like rocks and they are sweet looking, but they don't make them big enough for my big girl.

Anyhow, I tried to build my own. It was roughly 17', by 15' by 8' heigh. I used chicken wire and self hardening clay to cover it. once it dried it crack and fell apart. I'm getting frustrated with this artsy crap, and its driving me nuts.

Does anyone know where I can get a hide big enough, roughly the dimension above.

Thank you,
Stu

Clay flowerpots from gardening stores - you can get some really big ones (I am assuming your dimensions were meant to be inches ", not feet ') and they are quite inexpensive. The brown color is fairly natural - could likely paint or stain with waterbased product if you wanted to, or use it as a base to add texturing compound. We are using one that is about 20 inches diameter now - the bulb pots work best - they are big diameter but not too high.

Just turn upside down and chip the bottom hole out into a big enough one for her to get into and out of - but be careful with the chipping - you can crack the entire pot. We like them because they are heavy enough that they don't shift around like rubbermaid hides do and the snakes like to just stick their head out of the hole.
