I collected these last weekend

This a tiny juvenile. Note how much more brightly colored they are when young.

I think that Juvenile may be another species. I recently went to Bruce's house and he has a species that looks just like that. From what I've seen, the juvenile widows are usually brown.
I promise you it IS a Widow. I have kept these for years. It even has the "hourglass" on the abdomen.

No fighting?? What is this? Were they found in the same spot or somehting? Possible littermates? I thought all spiders ate each other, hahahaha

I took that pic as soon as I collected them. If left together there would be all sorts of canniblism lol

Brian, many widow species have the hourglass shape on them, not only L. Mactans. I'm saying it probably is one of those other species and not the common black widow.
