View Full Version : egg problem
Hi guys,
My female just laid 2 eggs but she laid them outside the laying box I had put for her.
I put the 2 eggs in the incubator but they curved by the inside. What can I do? Are they still good? will they hatch?
She did the same thing last year, her first clutch was in her normal hide

Do you know how long they were there before you found them?
Sounds like they might be a bit caved in, give them a couple of weeks and then candle them to see if they're fertile.
Yes, they are fertile, I'm pretty sure ! I came back home last night at 2AM and found them this morning at 10AM so they've been there for maximum 8 hours

Give them a go in the bator:) It's worth a try. If they were out in the open, they might have been stepped on or moved but like I said it's worth a try! Good luck!
No I'm sure they have not been step on, or move, cause they were stuck in the paper towel and also the shell was hard. When I put them in the bator, they were perfectly round, seems like they had too much humidity and they caved in.

From my experience they don't cave in from gettin to much humidity they cave in from having not enough, but either way I just had two geckos hatch out last week and there eggs were caved in at one point so much that I thought there would be no chance of them hatching but the did. So just mist them a little extra for a couple of days and see if they become plump once again (hope it works for you like it did for me).
