Anyone know of any good Hybrid breeders? I saw a Blood x Ball on another post and would really like to look into them but the site that they were on was last updated in 2000~! So I doubt they are still around/producing. I sent them an email anyways though. Any help is greatly appreciated~! ;)
Nerd may have Bateaters this year. Check with Bob Clark or Dr. Jay Owens, they may have some Bateaters.

"Bateaters" if they are as described above, would be illegal to own in Alberta as they are Hybrids of 2 species which both appear on the Restricted List. As far as Python morphs/hybrids (other than BPs of course) you are pretty much limited to Jaguars, their various crosses & the hybrid siblings that result from such crosses of Jaguars. A Jaguar being a morph of a Coastal Carpet Python that is being crossed with various other types of Carpets such as Jungles, Diamonds, IJs, Bredli etc. the results of any of which being Hybrids whether they are Jags or not. There are also banded/striped morphs of most Carpet species & the IJs also have a morph known as Granite. There are Albino Coastal Carpets in Austraila for sure currently also (not available to us N.A. folks though). There are many folks here in Canada that are currently working with Jags & their crosses as well as a couple of people that are going to try to produce the Granite IJs in the future as well. Best bet is to watch the forums & the clasifieds to see who comes up with what & its availability. Mark
P.S. Any of the Jags whether pure or crossed as well as the Granite IJs all involve price tags of $2,500 CDN + each & their are no Jaguar Hets so that is not an option. Granite hets still cost large & are only currently available from overseas.

They take your animals & can fine you under a couple of different acts. A local fellow just had some fairly recent problems due to some illegals he had & recv. a $350 fine under 2 acts for having 4 Burms, so he lost the animals & had to go to court & has 2 $350 fines to pay. He also had an additional $700 worth of fines (2 more $350's) for 2 Caiman as well. So I guess you would lose your animals, have to go to court & recv. 2 $350 fines? Mark

Everythng is ilegal in Alberta. Even non-toxic captive Phyllobates dart frogs are illegal in Alberta. They are no more danger than a goldfish.
It really sucks when useless and ridiculous laws are made by bureaucrats fed crap by fear mongering PETA activists.

All large Boids are illegal in Alberta there YoungBuck. That would include Anacondas & the following pythons: Scrubs, Burms/Indians, Retics, Af Rocks & Oenpellis. These large Boids aren't just for your average Joe anyway & more often than not are abused (major husbandry issues) or abandoned within the first 2 years of ownership. I don't have a problem with them banning the large Boids because of this, but it does suck that permits aren't being issued to keep them to those that are worthy either. The frogs & a few other things are kind of ridiculus, but most species that aren't allowed have fairly legit reasons. I personally don't think just anyone should be able to obtain & own hots either, but some other things on the lists are pretty lame. Better to have some restrictions than all out bans which was to be the orginal plan in the beginning. Prior 1984 in Alberta all exotics were listed as illegal. That included everything from tropical fish & reptiles to birds & all small mammals etc etc. Of course every single petstore & owner was in direct violation so something had to be done & was. At least the orginal plan of having an all out ban was dropped & a semi reasonable set of laws was put in instead. Mark

Just providing the info for others who were unaware, such as yourself (unless you were being sarcastic of course!). Cheers Mark
Anyone think a hybrid between a huge female ball and a tiny (dwarf maybe) male retic would be possible?
