That's always a sad situation for everyone.
As a sidenote: At least now they have updated the story enough to give a few more details. Earlier this morning, they would not release any possibilities of what kind of shark or any of the circumstances involved.
...can you even imagine a 20 foot shark!! What a sight that would be----I feel bad for the guy but I hope they don't kill the shark.

Funny stat I saw the other day that you never hear about. More people get killed a year from coconuts falling on there heads than from sharks. Makes you wonder about media fear mongering doesn't it.
Thought I'd share that cause I found it interesting.

It's all good, I needed a laugh as well with sh*tty week I've been having. Hope my coconuts helped in some way.
Hope things turn around for the better for you.

LOL Joey!:)
IMO we're terrestial(sp?) mammals, we take the chance of being eaten when we go for a dip in the Ocean:)

Thanks Stu----likewise for you.

Poor guy. I would crap myself as well. I had my own little run in with a shark while I was snorkaling (sp) in the Azcores. All I heard was my sister yelling so I thought she was trying to warn me about a large wave so I thought to myself that I would just float above the wave but when she didnt stop yelling, I stood up and looked on shore and saw ALL the locals standing and watching the water. She yelled Shark and I looked back and saw a fin, needless to say that I got out of the water quickly. However my brother in law was further out then I was so when he finally heard us the shark wasnt to far away from him, he swam back to shore and lost a flipper in the process. The shark left after a while, we never knew if it was harmless or not but whenever the locals are on the beach, Im going to follow their lead.

"bit him in half" ...uh-huh, I bet it did.
If you can't stand the fish...don't go in the Ocean...take a bath.

Doesn't that second photo look more like a big dolphin to you? I see the tail the wrong way and the stretched nose, but it could be just the way it looks underwater.
As soon as I saw it a big dolphin ... noise.. came to my head. What do they call that anyways? I was thinking along the lines of 'whinny' but that's more for the horses. :P

I'm sure the guy on the surfboard's first thoughts weren't 'thats a dolphin', he probably had a full set of pants.
