Very nice Pyro Mark!!! Seems all I can get mine to take these days is smaller prey, looks like you're having the same problem?

Yep small prey always & be carefull not too much. As a matter of fact his mate ate 5 of the same size pinkie/fuzzy 2 days ago & did the regurge last night. Small meals is key & quite often they won't eat unless teased. When I have live pinky/fuzzy around in the summer quite often I'll just feed the female live. She seems to do better with them & saves me lots of time. If she eats the same amount F/T she may regurge, but the live ones always seem to stay down. He eats bigger stuff (lil hoppers) but I'm trying to keep him from getting too big compared to her. He just about always will eat right away & has even eaten quite large hoppers. They are pretty cool lil guys anyhow & are pretty simple to keep once established as babies. Yours looks great too, Cheers Mark

I had mine on fuzzy rats last year (40.5" and 250 grams), but she shut down early Sept. and has only accepted fuzzy mice since. Then it's only one or two at a time, and every other week or so. I've tried teasing her on the weeks she refuses, but it just seems to spook her. She hasn't been loosing any weight, so it's all good ;).

Love the color intensity on these guys! Seems a lot of these mountain species are reluctant to handle larger feed items - or too much - seem designed to grow slowly and stay smaller. They make up for the frustrations by being one of the most beautiful species out there though,

They are definitely not CKs thats for sure. They seem to do best on small #'s of small prey, big difference between them (the Mtns) & most all other Kings (pigs LOL). Ah slowly but surely though, Mark
