ive read a small number of care sheets on balls as i plan on acuiring one soon, id like an opinion on what i read in a care sheet i found at HERE (http://www.vpi.com/8VPICareSheets/Pythons/BallPythonCare/ballCareSheet.htm) heres a quote: it's our observation that ball pythons are ideally suited to survive the mistakes and neglect that shouldn't ever happen, but occasionally do happen to all kinds of captive snakes.

this seems to be quite opposite of what ive been reading in other caresheets, any comments?

No, they are pretty damn hardy animals, considering the way some people keep them. Especially since most keepers (not breeders) keep them in a way RADICALLY different than the conditions in which Ball Pythons evolved to live in.

VERY hardy snakes. Almost bullet-proof.

I think so far the most important lesson I have learned ref Ball Pythons is to have alot of patience. Unlike me, who gets extra-ordinarily grumpy and foul if I miss one meal, Balls can go for a long time with no food.

Markus Jayne has a fantastic website with a ton of great info. As does Tim Cranwell, Jeff Favelle and a boat load of others.
