Hey Ya,

I am thinking of adding a pair of IJ's to my ever growing collection. I want something a bit smaller, and preferably semi-aboreal. So, I am looking at ATB's or IJ's but leaning towards IJ's.
I haver read they are basically nocturnal, which doesn't lednd itself well to be a "display" animal, that aside, are they less affected by higher traffic areas? Or will this mess with their eating and stress them out?
My last question, is regarding the future of IJ's. I have not seen alot of cross breeding or morphs of IJ's. I know there are some but do you think they will catch on like BCI's and Balls? Or is the potential even there for some of the crazier morphs to begin with? Albino IJ's etc.

Thanks

There aren't a ton of morphs like Balls and BCIs and there probably won't be. But they make SWEEET display snakes! And they look good enough the way they are. :D

They do hide but they are also visible a lot of the time. If I went downstairs right now, I would bet that about 50% would be visible.

They get my vote over an ATB hands down! ;) :p

LOL What half would be visible? Left or Right half? And if you had 2 what are the odds that one would be the left half and one would be the right half?

I would agree. with Cranwill. Mine is turning out to be a great display animal. Most of the time he is hanging out in the trees. My male is on a pretty predictable schedule and hides for 2 days after a meal and then is out for 3 days until his next meal.

Thanks

LOL Sorry, I guess I worded that poorly. :p

I meant 50% of the IJs I own. :D

Hehe I know but the smart asp (thats a snake you know :D ) in me can not resist. It's my weakness, or at least one of the dozens :)

Anyways thanks again.

I just love'em,
Our oldest pair we have had for about 9 years.
They are truely awesome display animals, my mature ones almost
never hide, and the juvies are about by 6-7pm.
The morph thing is just starting, but without it even ijs all the way.

They are Killer Cool for display etc. In reguards to morphs etc. not alot on the go yet. They have been crossed successfully with JCPs & Jaguars (Jags being Coastals) & possibly more. After seeing Cranwills latest pics of the ones from Kyle I'm kicking myself for selling the pick of the litters I had. Super nice snakes & IMHO Carpet Pythons over any Boa anyday hands down. Mark
