Redtail and a Tree Boa

Ok this may seem like a stupid question to some, but is it ok to house a Redtail Boa and a Amazon Tree Boa in the same housing? Bothe are around 21 inches. Thanks for your help!

Any imput would be apreciated, I only plan on keeping them in the same 55 gal home until I can get a new house built for them. I plan on a 4 foot tall by 8 foot long and 2 foot deep home that will cover most of one wall and have a small water pond and plenty of tree limbs. Sould be complete in 6 to 12 months

Do yourself a fav and go out and pick up some rubbermaids in the mean time..

A)They each have different requirements for temperature and humidity.

B)They could eat each other(amazon would lose)

C)Chance of both getting sick

the list goes on..I'm too tired, been at work for 12 hours. Don't keep them together. You're just asking for problems, just build them separate inclosures.

it causes stress to the snakes. they compete for the basking spot etc. stress kills snakes.

Ok, I just won't do it, thanks for the info! Is there any other types thay would be safe??? I'd just like some varity in the enclosure.

Snakes do much better in homes of their own. You should only have two snakes in one enclosure for breeding purposes.

Ok, LOL I guess I asumed that if the enclosure was large enough it would be ok. I'm trying to make a interesting display with the animals I love most. I've already decieded it would be too dangerous (not to mention costly) to put my Macaw Parrot in the enclosure (duh). LOL Looking for ideas! I love my animals and love to display them!

It's probably just as dangerous to put another snake in there as it is to put the parrot in there...

Why not create a gorgeous vivarium for one display snake?

Putting two together only benefits you (the keeper) and acts negatively on the snakes...

Surely you've figured that a tree boa and red tail would have very different requirements and that both would not be met in one enclosure...

It also is the same with other snakes, and even a snake of the same species can create problems...

Better safe than sick, dead, or broke due to huge (one snake gets sick they both get sick = two vet bills) vet expenses...

Ok, we have settled on the fact that housing two snakes in the sam vivarium is not a good thing.....
So here's my new idea how about a 8 foot long by 4 foot tall and 2 foot wide with a glss seperator in the middle? This would make each area a 4x4x2 area for each snake that would aprear like it one vivarium. would this be ok? We're talking a Redtail in one and a tree Boa in the other side. Whats your thoughts???

It would look cool, but I really don't think it would be ideal at all.
You will have a bitch of a time trying to keep the temperature and the humidity up. Just my $0.02.

I would say that is a good idea if the amazon is not overly aggresive as most are. Constant striking at the snake next door can lead to injury. Other than that i see no problem. My emerald is in an 2' x 2' x 4.5' wooden enclosure sealed and i have no problem what so ever with keeping humidity over 80%.

The humidity wouldn't be hard to keep up in an Emeralds or Amazons enclosure, because you don't have the high heat evaporating it. I should have said it, but I meant it more for the Redtail.
It will be alot harder to keep heat and humidity up in the redtails enclosure. There I said it : )
