I am about to get to building a web page. I was wondering who you all use as a host?

I am not too concerned with free hosting so long as its stable and has good customer service. If you use one you really like can you post me a link? Thanks very much.

The one that I use, and that most of my clients are using, is 1&1 Internet. Their hosting packages start at $4.95 including domain, and that gives you 1 GIG of web space, 200 email accounts, and lots of traffic.

If you sign up and it asks you who referred you and they want a domain name, give them www.albertareptilesociety.org. :)

Last year I used Apache, PHP and MySQL to host my site on my own computer. No monthly payments and my webspace depended on how much hard drive space I had left (lots :D). It was pretty fun to set it all up and figure it all out at first (for me anyways). If you know a thing or two about computers and if you're a quick learner you can get your own webserver running fairly quickly.

I also used 1and1.com on Ken's suggestion, and am very happy with it. I am hosting 8 webpages on my one account, and things work fine.

I use 1and1 as well i own a few servers from them they are great.
