I have seen some ppl that when they have their baby leos in the Sterilite containers they dont use substrate...is this safe and will it make it easier for the geckos to find food????

I've never had a problem with baby geckos finding food. Supposedly not using substrate helps them find their dinner, but considering that they find food quite well in the wild, my feeling is that it's overkill.
No substrate does remove all chances of impaction though.

I keep my leos in sterilite contaners but I use a paper towel as substrate. This is good because it stops there little feet from slidding all over and you can mist it to keep it moist when they are sheeding. Also makes cleaning easier when they poop! Just my opinion!

Thanks...I have them on paper towels right now and plan on moving them into a nicely decorated aquarium when they get older.....but I was just wondering.
I haven't had any baby leos of my own but I am a big fan of paper towel as well. :D With no substrate it means you have to do a FULL clean each time. With paper towel it takes about two minutes to totally replace it if you are in a hurry.

Repti-liner works too, you can have 2, one in tank, and a second cleaned one that you swap in when you clen the tank, and clean the dirty one when you get a chance. Looks a little more natural :) No impaction risk either.
