Feline Repellant??

Anyone know of a feline repellant?
And im not looking for "DOG" LOL
I rehab herps, and sometimes I get birds of prey like kestrel, burrowing owls, falcons. They need to be kept outdoors so as not to "people-ize" them, cuz they go back to the wild.
Cats have reached into the cages before and snatch them through the bars. I find a half eaten bird still in cage.
Tired of trapping feral cats, and having them picked up also. they are still animals, and only doing what they do best, even if they are a huge problem, I know the end result of having them picked up.
Anyone know an alternative?? ie.repellant, deterant.

I've heard of people putting mothballs around flowerbeds to keep cats out.

We put Cayenne Pepper in our houseplants to keep the cat out.
I"ve heard about people using Vinegar and/or Amnoina(spelling) to keep animals away too.

To be perfectly honest, as much as I like animals, I would say "get rid" of them with extreme prejiduce. Feral house cats do immeasurable damage to wildlife. If they are getting your cages rehabs through the wires imagine what they are doing to the wildlife in the area. Not to mention they breed like rabbits. If I were in your position I would stop at nothing to remove the threat completely. Honestly any other measure, as brutal as I am sounding, will only be a very short term answer. Cats (even fat house cats) are nearly a perfect preditor, they will continue to kill your "patients" in rehab if they are not dealt with. I guess you will have to make a decision on what you are willing to do to protect your wards.

Hey Shawn, No offense taken at all. I know the problem all too well. Its just that it gets real old after 8 yrs, and 3 homes doing it over and over and over.
Ive eliminated more than forty cats in this time. Im not against it, just tired of it, and looking for an alternate measure.
can try the pepper thing, if they get to the trap, than it dont work.
Guess Ill stick with the time proven method Ive been doing otherwise.

You could try motion sensitive sprinklers. And make the spray directed out from the cages. I believe they aren't that expensive or difficult to set up.

I was reading that the sprinklers do not work more than once or twice.... then they get used to the spray and ignore it... If you have a Home Depot where you are, there is something called "pest away" or something like that or "critter remover" there. I had been looking into it because I have a ton of cats here spraying on my door and in turn mine has been spraying back so I have been researching it this powder you sprinkle around the parimeter of your house and when the cat, racoon ect steps in it it irritates their skin and finally they leave well enough alone.

Try it anyhow it has worked for me call your local home depot and ask a seasonal associate about it.

Home Depot is right aroung the corner, so Ill look into that first since its easier than ordering online and waiting.
Still got a lil while before actuall "Bird" season, so I can test these things before its full throttle.

I am also going to try this stuff! Thanks for the idea. The sprinkler sounded like a good idea here but it wasn't feasible in the area we have a problem. We have this male cat who comes between the houses and sprays directly into our basement window! UGH!
