Alright,

I have had my new boa for the last month or so. He/She is around 5 1/2 feet long. This is my first "big snake" so i am a bit concerned about this

Appx 3-4 days after feeding he/she has its urates before its actuall p00, and with that is the white gooey subsatce but this is also a fair amount of liquid. the smell is enough to pick up in another room. And hard to stand in the herp room.

Is this Normal?

Secondily this was a rescused boa and at first was very agressive, but has calmed down tremendsly and is practilly a new snake. When i recived him is was very mal-nurished and cold.
I have the temps at basking spot- 95 and cool 82 with the ambient air temp at around 86. Im using a 125 gal so it is very hard to keep humidity up so i use garbage bags on top with a humidifier in the tank, this puts the humidity up around 65%. Ever scence i got him he had a raspy or wheesing sound. I dont think it is because of RI becuase there is no sign on Nasel build up. I put the humidity up and i still hear it occasionaly

He hasnt defecicated in the tank yet becuase he will only go in water i have noticed, there fore i cannot tell if it is wet or dry

Am i stressin this too much, or is this normal??

Help would be apreaciated

As far as I know chris, your fine no need too worry, stressing is normal if you care for your pets.

My larger boids do the same. you will mostly get the liquid and the white paste 2-3 times to every one defecication... and for some reason happenes more with males then females...could just be mine.....

good luck with the rescue and keeps temps high for a while to ensure RI under controle (without nasal blockage can still be RI)

cheers

It is definitely an RI, and I've found that with boids, beating it with heat alone simply won't cut it. Get it to a vet, it may need antibiotic injections.

For the urates, totally normal. I have 3 adult boas in my living room, and they can stink up a neighborhood if they all urate at the same time. :)
