I feel that a new corn can live in a 10g for at least a year. After that lay the 10g on its side and you have doubled the floor space. An adult should have something at least 36Lx12W, 18W would be better.

I have a 20g high that I laid down on its side and it increased the floor space by at least twice. Laying a tank on its side makes it hard to see your snake because you looking through a screen cover if its on a shelf but other then that if its laying out then you get to look through the to glass surface. The point is that if you have a shelf with enough room this it a good way to stack tanks, keep them accessible and increase the amount of floor space. This is what I keep my largest corn in.

Laying it on it's side also makes it easier to get to the snake
