i just bought the boa constrictor manual and it says that a 3 and a half foot male could breed with a 6 foot female. is this true? i thought those sizes were a little small but im not sure.

I would think that that is probably true (possiblebut on the small side). However I think a better indication is general health. Is the female beefy enough to endure the rigors of producing all those babies.
That's my 2 cents, but I suspect others here would be more informative than I.

I agree with Shawn. Length is not the be-all-end-all of maturity. Just like there are short people, there are short Boas. That's like saying female humans can't breed until they are 5.5 feet tall and male humans can't breed until they are 6.5 feet tall. What if they never reach that height/length? They never become mature enough to breed?
