Looks good but is that bulb really necessary?

Hi,
My temp. during the day was sitting around 68 degrees, with the 50watt sun glo its still only around 71? Maybe my new exoterra thermometer isn't working. I will add a digital to see what's really going on. I thought the same thing too...... I tested a heated (red bulb, 100w) as well, the temperature did not seem to increase that much either.
Maybe it's the construction of the cage and the location of the thermometer. (placed near the opening doors)

I'd double check with some digital thermometer. I think I used a 50 watt sun glow for my veild cham to get a basking spot of 90 degrees. So I would check it ASAP, I would turn the bulb off in the mean time. Good Luck! :)

Hey was just cruious, this may be needed for for the cham forum but..
Was wondering if these new cages would be acceptable for a chameleon? knowing they useally need more screening for ventalation.. but with these i see down 3/4 way there is a vent system aswell the top screen..
So...Great for cresties...okay?? for chams???
Thanx

Get the bulb off the top of the enclosure or you will have a melted mess on your hands. The manufacturer states to have incandescant bulbs a minimum of 4 inches from the screen lid.

is that the biggest one on the market? i really like them and want to house a breeding pair or cresteds in one and was wondering which size i should get
yea the reflection of the glass might not be the best thing for an adult chameleon also.
Those are relly nice tanks though, great for the cresties he has in there right now. I was surprised at how good the price is on them also.
Also I thought cresties did well in room temps.

How many white dumpy's can I fit in the 33gal? How big of a size do they go to?
Sweet looking tank you put so good effort into it!
