Hey guys,
I've been wondering lately about my Eastern Box Turtle. It was sold as an eastern, and by all means appears to be, but the hind feet have three toes, not four. I know this is possible, but how prevalent is it?
Starting to wonder if its actually a hybrid.
Steve
I just checked, and both of mine have four toes...I'm not much help! Maybe someone with more box turtle experience can help?

Hi Blair,
What makes you say its T. carolina triunguis as opposed to T. c. carolina, or even the hybrid?
Thanks for the reply, even though this is an old post, it never really did get answered.
