Hello all, I'm doing something for school and reptiles (specifically snakes) is my number one intrest, it's based on exotic animals. So my question for everyone is: Does anybody know of horrer stories regarding neglected exotic animals? Aswell as if they were saved.

I have not heard of any such stories, here is a link to a reptile resue, here in Ontario. They may be able to provide you with the information that you seek.

Thanks for the bit on animal hoarding Heather. That topic led me to a few sites that really helped out

I read a book recently. I dont know if it as been translated to english or not. ''Zoo. Si les betes parlaient, si le public savait'', by Louise Beaudin. Éditions Michel Quintin.

She has been the veterinary of the Granby Zoo before 1986. She had to work in a terrible environment where the priority were completely against animal healh. It is a horrible but true story. The chaper 16 is about reptiles.

The reptilarium was build on a model of 1920 building. They dont want to pay too much electricity, so they cut it during winter night (water bassin temperature descend from 26C to 5C!). No herpetologist were employed. Snakes escape continually, even a green mamba escape and the employee were not advised. Snakes dieds, parasites multiply, etc. etc.

The whole book is one to read for animal lovers, I strongly recommand it.
