Hey all
I was wondering about how tempetures when you are wanting a male or female. I knwo that if you have one of the at thew lower or higheer they turn out to be a male or feamle. I am wanting to produce males right now because i have a buyer for a male. Butany information about this would be great.
Thanks a bunch
Jon

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that incubation temperature has not yet been determined to be a decisive factor in producing a desired gender of crested gecko.

Adam is correct. For the time being, temperature sexing with R. ciliatus is merely a theory, unlike with some other gecko species.
When purchasing hatchlings from long-time ciliatus breeders I've been told that they tend to get more females with the temperatures they use, however. Maybe more long-time breeders could offer some insight.

But whatr is the theory. High temps creat males and low temps creat females? I just want to know a possibility that i could create males.

The Rhac book has a theory that eggs incubated at a fluctuating room temp.72-78 will have a high female ratio.
Eggs above 80(no high than 83) tend to be a high male ratio. Babies hatched at high temps tend to be smaller and take longer to mature. Hope this helps
