Hey all
My crested barely touch their baby food, but they love crickets. They finsihed off 10 crickets in 5 days. Is there something wrong with that? If they keep this up i think i might add vitimins in with the calcium when i dust the crickets so they get more nutrition. Is there anything wrong with adding vitimins in with the calcium? Maybe should i try a different kiind of baby food? I have two other kinds. Fruit salad and pear and appracote. I think both of those are fine for crsted arent they?

At young ages, cresties prefer crickets or so it seems in my experience. Im not sure what ingrediants are in those babyfoods so I cant help you out there. But if you want something better than babyfood, give Crested Gecko Diet a try. It has all the nutrients your geckos require. :)

My two females are adutls. And i have tired to order crested gecko diet but no one around here sells it. I have been on a waiting list for over a month. So maybe i have to go to london or kitchener to mtry and get it. But i am going to miz them up some new food tonight and get them another dozen crickets. And i am also getting another female sometime soon so i hope she will teach the other two to like the food. And i found something out that was interesting. I ahve been putting ym food in a rock dish and my dad told me that the moisture gets sucked out because of the rock so i need to pick up a plastic dish.

Go to global exotic pets in Kitchener they will have all the supplies you will need. So will large chain pet stores like pets smart or super pet. Uneaten babyfood and cgd dries out pretty fast. Usually by the morning after the night feeding. It should be removed and dicarded. You should really consider learning how to properly care for your present cresteds before you go out and purchase another female and consider breeding ;)

Oh i though it could last a couple days. I will do my best to change the food more often then.
Thanks

I had bought awhile back a little crestie that the breeder just feeds crickets to his hatchling cresties. I usually do the opposite, however, his crestie was so tubby he had to pivet on our finger as his belly was so big. I think it is a matter of choice, however, I would make sure you gutload your crickets real well to feed your cresties and watch giving vitamins as you can overdo it as well.
I just started mine on miner-all (Sticky Tongue Farms) and I actually purchased the product Vit-All (same company) which is a gutloading multi vitamin formula for your crickets.
Good luck and most of these products can be purchased at reptile stores.
