View Full Version : Definitions?
What are all the definitions of the morphs? We have amelanistic, albino, piebald, etc.

This is a huge question. Are you looking for color or pattern morphs? What species? Or just general genetics info? I will just post some links and let you get the info you want.
NERD (http://www.newenglandreptile.com/BallPythonGallery.html)
VPI (http://www.vpi.com/4VPIInventory/VPIPriceList/BallPicPages/ballpythonpatterntext.htm)
Krissy's gentics page (http://www.compusmart.ab.ca/kbush/geckogenetics.htm)
Corn snake genetics (http://serpwidgets.com/cornsnakes/morphs/morphs.html)
These are just a few of the sites available. If it is genetics that you are looking for the corn snake page is the best. Just remember that the form of inhertance can be different from species to species. Krissy's bage covers the basics very well in understandable language. NERD lists the genetics of each ball python that is pictured. VPI is just two of the most knowledgable and well respected people in the reptile world.
Hope this helps,
Thanks, I've also wondered where some of the names come from... like frosted creamsicle....
