the thread titled short story will answer the first question.... its a nice story so read it.. lol.. but im gonna hijack the post... ;):)...
should i be feeding my baby beardie in a seperate tank.... so as not to have crix runnin around at night...
sorry for hijacking your post..
Steve: You can start attempting to feed it veggies right away. They will usually not take to them right away, but it doesn't hurt to leave them in there for it. Mine took to them pretty quick. They also work great in taming him. handfeeding veggies helps them ascociate (sp?) you with food, which makes them like you :)
the "PRO'S" can usually determine sex from about 6 wks, My little guy was sexed from the breeder as male, and at about 3-4mths old the 'bulges' became visable.
peterm15: you can, some people find it easier, and as you said it eliminates crix running around at night. I fed my guy a couple at a time so they could not get away, now they can't even get out of the bag by the time he's in there chowin down on dinner, crazy bugger.

Hi Steve
I start feeding finely chopped greens immediately. It sometimes takes a hatchling a few days to a week to turn onto the greens, but I offer them right away.
As far as sexing goes, it really depends on the beardie and your experience with sexing them. I find I can usually fairly accurately determine sex at approx. 6 weeks, or 6 to 8 inches in length.
Hope this helps!

thanks alot guys i chopped up some lettuce and kale this morning she looked intested but hasnt eaten yet as for sexing her that is awesome i thought i would have to wait 4-6 monthes! but that is way better she is only 2 weeks old right now and i have named her sierra in hopes that she is a female (fingers crossed)
Lettuce = BAD!!!
Use dark greens like collard, dandelion, endive, kale, bok Choy. ect.

about feeding yoor babies onto veggies. i started with kale. i chopped it very finely and quite an bit. then i lightly mist it and then but meal worms in it. the meal worms make it look like its moving and if they see a bug or water they taste the veggie and then hopefully :rolledeyes: eat it.
