terms about leos

Can someone please explain to me what het and double het, and all thoes types of terms mean.... i'm feeling left out. thanks.

het means that it carries a gene. for example, het for albino is a normal that carries an albino gene, and could produce albinos if bred to an albino or another het. double het means that it is het for two different genes, such as a double het for blazing blizzard (het for albino and het for blizzard).

OK! thank you very much. How do you get a blazing blizzard? Is it just crossing blizzards together?

Blazings are a result of breeding DH albino&blizzard.:)

if you breed albinos to blizzards, you get DH for both traits. Take those offspring that look normal but carry both traits, breed back to each other, you have 1/16 chance of producing a blazing blizzard. (statistically)

Yea, but its tough, very tough to get them. I think the odds are far lower than that :)

Dan Uremovic is the only one in Canada that has sucessfully produced a blazing blizzard to date =P If you scroll down in the threads here, he posted pictures a while back of one that he hatched out.

of a blizzard. The only difference is Blazing have red eyes :)

There's a few blazing blizzards in the US. Prehistoric pets has them at around $1250 US each.

Crestedgecko.com also I think has 2 blazing blizzards as well.

I also think a couple people in the US hatched out a Blazing Bell Blizzard.

Mike.....I know this is an old post but if you are still haveing trouble with all this genetics stuff I found a great site that helps bring it all to light! Some good reading almost like being in a mind blowing scince class agian but it will save you alot of time and help you with any planed projects. I know it set me stright and gave me a few big tips on the falls projects.
