View Full Version : New to Carpet Pythons - Size Questions

I have a couple of questions about carpet python sizes. I have read this:

Jungle: 5 to 7 feet with the largest being 8.5
Diamond: 6 to 8 feet with the largest being 9 to 10
Coastal: 7 to 8 feet with the largest being 10 to 11

My first question is, do these sizes sound accurate? And second, does anyone know how these snakes differ in terms of their bulk, or rather, how wide they get? I know jungles are quite skinny but is the same true for coastals and diamonds?

Thanks,
Adam

That sounds pretty accurate, although im not sure about diamonds. If you're worried about size, what about an Irian Jaya carpet python..their supposedly the smallest.

Thanks for your reponse. I guess my concern with size would be that I don't want something that is as bulky as a colombian or a dumeril's but still more snake than a ball. I am just wondering if a coastal or diamond would fit that description...

A male jcp, any IJ would fit. Coastals can get pretty big and im pretty sure diamonds can as well.
