We are looking at getting some USEFUL information regarding Sand boas.
We are relatively new Sand boa hobbiests and are in need of some advise on what's going on.
What is the best way to go about dealing with and diagnosing a sand boa who vomits up this sorta cloudy mucus.
We've talked to a few pet store people regarding this problem and one of them led us here.
Please help us figure out what's going on with our li'l buddy.
Serious responses only, Please.

Thank you!

Well Laud without a little more info we can't help too much, but sounds like a respiratory infection to me. What are your temps in your tank and what are you using for a heat source? Sometimes just by upping the temps in their environment they can shake the RI but if persistent you will have to see a vet about needles and meds.Like I said though if you could tell us a little about how you've got it set up, we can all try to help you a little more. Good luck and don't give up.

i read in your other post that you are housing him with a female. separate them immediatly. if whatever is wrong with him is catching, you will have 2 sick snakes instead of one. also, housing snakes together (besides breeding season) is never really a good idea, for many reasons including that it causes stress, which opens them up for disease. if it is RI, a few things to check for are open mouth breathing, nasal discharge, and breathing that sounds weezey or gurgling. you can also open the mouth (if you feel comfortable doing this) and check for red dots on the trachea. if it is RI, you may also see an abundance of mucus. either way, if your snake is vomiting, it is vet time.

Hey *Laud*

Nice to see you found the site! I thought there would be more responses, but hey a few good ones are better than lots of useless ones. Hope everything works out.
