I was going to buy screen and make a nice cham cage but, I was looking in one of my mobile homes today and found a large bird cage :) It has all 6 sides made of metal bars, to food dishes in the front, 2 doors and I easily put a heat lamp and a UV floresent on top :D The cham seems to love it, I put in a couple bushy plants and a dripper. He has already adjusted to his new cage and is eating :)
Does anyone else bird cages?
I was going to use some really nice 6 foot tall hex cages once but i phoned the manufacturer and they said it was not rust proof. SO i decided against it.
Might be something you want to look into.

as long as you are hand feeding or cup feeding the crickets it sounds good. I probably would consider the same if I had a big one available. But as long as I got to buy one or make one I will go with something more suitable.

The one problem I find with using bird cages, or any cages with large holes, is that they sometmies try anxiously to escape through these holes, rubbing their nose and often injuring themselves. Aside from crickets escaping, and if you have no problems with nose rubbing, they are very functional.
