hi guys!!! i have a few questions regarding a female boa that i bought. i tried to feed her and she struck at the prey. its a pinky rat that i try to feed her. she grab the pinky rat and then let go right away as if the rat is hot. the pinky rat is still alive by the way. is it normal for a boa to struck at a prey then let go right away. she did this twice and im thinkin if maybe shes sick. comments and suggestions pls!!! thanks

It could be that you have just got him and he still does not feel safe to eat yet. dident give him time to settle in.
It could be Cage Temp.
Could be a problem on the inside of the snakes mouth.
could be you are siting there watching him when he is used to feeding when it is dark and or no one is around.."OverNight"
You could try to feed him dead mice..
There are many things that it could be you dont really know unless you own the snake.. hope any of my 2 cents will help :)

oh yeah and you should try to get it on Freshly killed or F/t mice..
Live is not a good thing to get them hooked on..
