the only thin ghtey will hurt are really tiny bugs. in fact i think you will find your animals harm them more than they harm your animals.

Ive always been interested in getting one. Are they hard to keep? What would they eat?

I have kept quite a few, in terms of feeding i just went out under a light at night and caught anything that was there. Not much to keeping them. Very simple.

not a lot of the more common vivarium lizards would be suited for the same conditions. they are more commonly used in frog cages.
bog plant. they will grow in lots, good drainage is good but keep moist. as for flies if you realyl want to feed them, leave a piece of old vegetation (ie salad scraps or somthing) beside it and that should fill them up.
not such a huge problem with fly trps, moreso pitcher plants, but i used to feed them and some started to rot cause tehre was too much gunk down there. i would personally just let them catch whats normally around. but i have a bad track record with fly traps :(
