A little less than kind. You've got to admit though, the revive was cool, however I find it difficult to believe that Mountain Dew wouldn't seriously damage the gills. Still, it's not an experiment that I'm about to verify.

How many pointless videos of human cruelty for the sake of art is there? Instead of agreeing with everyone on this obvious fact I'd like to meet the makers of the film and discuss it with them. I'm sure we can come to some agreement on what is art and what is
cruelty.

Didnt get to see the Mountain Dew part of it, but if they revived it with MD than it probably was pretty pain full to the fish. Carbonation alone would come close to drowning it in O2, then the cafeine, the sugars, absorbic acids etc.
Thats just not right. Agree with Chris Rodgers. would LOVE to "EXPLAIN" to the makers the differencees of art, and cruelty.

They have some other interesting movies. For example, this mousey-snuff one:

Well... the fish lived... I thought it was pretty cool.

Hasn't anybody seen where Steve-O swallows a goldfish, then pukes it back up again? ... Goldfish are hardcore.

"Goldfish are hardcore."

Are you joking? So what, you know how much pain they can be feeling even when we net them to switch them from tank to tank..........? Just cause they are "hardcore" doesnt me you should be cruel to them.

I didnt watch the vid and dont intend on it......I've seen so many already......I pisses me off so much, Im mad for the rest of the day. However I'd love to go with Chris Rodgers and Rick to have a word with these......lowly lifeforms that made the vid/s.

Yea, I used to be a goldfish, I know exactly how much pain they can handle.

I dont see how you see cruelty as something cool. The goldfish died a few minutes after being shocked with the battery.

why do you guys even want to post stuff like this? I won't watch the video because I refuse to even give it my time...

To me watching it is really no different than participating in it.....morbid curiousity.
:(

...think about it.

I gotta agree with Joey on this. Everyone says this video is horrible, but how is posting it on a website with 7,000 members doing anything useful? LOL All it creates is a thread 40 replies long talking about how mean the video is, yet giving it MORE attention. That's what these people want, lots and lots of people downloading their video, and for those who think its cruel, you sure are helping them out with their hit counters! :)

Perhaps you're right. We shouldn't give time to vid's like this.
But as a Moderator should you allow obvious animal cruelty to be displayed on this Forum? Then, why would you object to responses from well intentioned Members?

I can't "allow" or "not allow" anything. It's not against the rules to post this particular video as it's a fine line for some people. Some people feel feeding live rats is TOTALLY just as cruel....while others simply would rather not waste time on videos like this one (like me)

I simply see no point into drawing attention to something someone finds so cruel by posting it on another website where it will recieve even MORE attention. This happens like what, bi-weekly? I was speaking about the trend of posting these "cruel videos" instead of simply ignoring them and not giving them the attention.

As for well intentioned...what intentions? I am not sure what the goal of this thread was, if it was to share a "cruel video" and have others agree its cruel, then great. I only voiced MY opinion that its pointless to do so especially if you do not agree with it. It IS a mean thing to do. That wasn't my point though.

If we ignore everything cruel, we ignore life. There are people on the forums who will do something about this, letting people know how animals are treated daily may help put a stop to this one day, rather than ignoring it and pretending stuff like this does not happen. If you dont want to watch it the DONT, no one is saying you must watch it. Though some of us will see how animals are treated and one day may help them.

Not every thread has great meaning or a goal, im mean really; how many threads in general chat have intentions? Its general chat, not everything posted must require a goal.

No offence, its just..... Your not forced to watch it.

HAHA I never said I didn't watch it, was forced, or anything else. You missed my point by so far I won't even bother explaining again.

Marisa,

Your point is well taken. These videos do exist and viewing them
does perpetuate their creation. The issue would lie with
the Court system in determining if the video's creators intended to cause or ought to have known that they caused, by their actions, cruelty to an animal.

Some people have too much spare time...... Keep in mind though.. there were cuts AND editing in this clip..... so they could have put a dead fish in with the mountain dew in the first place.
