This is an actual mule that went Berzerker on the cat, and actually killed it. the guy couldnt get near the mule or cat for half an hour after the mule killed the cat.
Dont mess with mother nature.:D

Cougars are my favorite Cat for that reason. They take large prey, without a pride backing them up. The other solitary Cats stick to the smaller than them theory.
In this case, they believe he was actually stalking the dogs.

wow, it looks prett photoshop, but if it's true then , wow. Too bad for the cat.

I had a mule that had a dislike for coyotes, and she would stomp and trample any coyote or other canine that entered her pasture. We pulled several carcasses from her pasture, and most of them were found with in 100 feet of the perimeter fence. They didnt get in too far before she had them. My mammoth donkeys hated all canines, and acted as excellent predator control during calving season as well. Funny that my horses didnt mind dogs unless they were being bothered.

OMG, the only sad thing is that cougars are much rarer than mules!! Wow, i admire this donkey for sure!!

Check this link:
http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/mulelion.asp
This is what Snopes has to say about it on that page....
Claim: Photographs show a mule attacking (and killing) a mountain lion.
Status: Undetermined.
Origins: We don't yet have any leads on when, where, or by whom these pictures were taken, so we can't say anything definitive about what they depict.
It's quite possible that, as often happens, the photographs are real, but someone has fabricated an inaccurate description to accompany them. For example, in the first picture the mountain lion appears to have a trap and/or chain fastened to one of its legs, and none of the photographs convincingly demonstrates that the big cat was alive at the time the pictures were taken. It might be, therefore, that the mountain lion had already been caught and killed by other means, and this sequence of photographs simply shows the equine picking up its lifeless body.

I think if you look closer, you will see that the "trap, and or chain", is actually the reins of the mules halter wrapping around the cougar in the struggle.
The third pic shows this clearly.
The first pic shows the cougar baring its teeth. kinda hard to do if yer dead.

Whatever it is... it's wild either way! Definitely crazy pics!
