View Full Version : Black Pine
Black Pines seem to be a truly under appreciated snake, you would think with their calm temperment and black sleekness they would be more popular.
It's amazing how much my guy has grown over the past two years, starting out at 14 inches and now around 4 feet in size. His recent shed inspired me to post a few pics, the first pic of him when he was still young.

One word: WOW:D
Incredible snake........Black is way to underrated.
AWesome!!!
I totally loved my pair of black pines! I miss them.
I'd love to find one or two of these near me.
I thought they held more pattern as they matured like black rats. That is totally cool!!

That is a very beautiful snake. If I could have one, I probably would.
It's a bit hard to see in that picture but younger black pines do have some pattern. When they age the pattern usually begins to fade. My black pine only has some faint patterning near his tail region, but the rest of him is solid black. I purchased this guy at PCPC, there are very few breeders that I know of.
The personality is great, for these snakes. He has only hissed at me a few times, normally in shed, it has come off more comical than intimidating.

Underrated? Are you kidding? I'd KILL for a trio of these! I love pines, but an all black pine? Hell, sign me up!
