Ok, if my pic worked, you can see the cage i want to build, it will consist of 3 cages, the bottom one being for a larger snake, and the top, one for a snake, and the other, a bearded dragon.

can the members who have build cages like this give me there opinions please..

the cage will be build of melemine, all 3 cages will have litter dams even though i will be using repti carpet, lol..

the 2 top cages will be 3 feet long, 2 feet deep, and 18 inches high each..

and the bottom will be 6 feet long, 2 feet deep, and 18 inches high..

i will have 2 vents in the bottom cage, and 1 in each top cage( unless other opinions are givin)

now what i am wondering is for the bottom cage i will use a heat pad with a rheostat, probably placed in between the bottom cage floor, and another panel that will be there..

but what i am wondering is should i heat the 2 top cages the same way?

please give me some opinions, as i will be building this cage in a few weeks, then a month after, i will be building a simaler one..

please let me know

Have built one or two, It looks nice. and I think the top two can heat the same way. are they going to be movable? (top 2)
How you plan on light and basking?
top two can come from above, how bout bottom?

One of the top ones at least will have to be heated with a basking light if it will house Bearded dragons as well as a fixture for UV light (if you use them). The overall plan looks great though and the design is super easy to build as there are a couple step-by-step threads on here, you just need to change the sizes a little.

one question, why change the sizes? i think its a perfect size.

also, both cages on top will have round holes cut out the top with mesh, so i can put the lamps over them..

Why cut a hole put a eletircal box inside and put a fixture in and cover the buld with screen you can do this in all 3 cages

Sorry I should have been more clear there.......I meant in the threads I mentioned on step-by-step construction they give what sizes the pieces need to be so you just need to adjust the sizes for the dimensions you want your cages.

the hole in the top sounds right to me for basking light. you gonna do the same for UV for the beardie?
they sell small flouresant full spectrum UV set up 18" reasonable. have to change the bulb every 6 months, cuz uvb runs out.
