Wagging tail?

So my leopard gecko sometimes acts odd and wags her tail. Yes, wag. I mean like it's up in the air moving slowly back and forth. It's not like when she's hunting, all fast and furious low to the ground. Is this normal for her to do this. She also stalks around all ninja like when she does this.

The only time I have seen my leos do that is when they are pi$$ed at something pretty bad LOL A few times there have been tug-O-wars with superworms and they get pretty agro at eachother afterwards LOL

Are you trying to pick her up at the time?? Is there another leo in the tank?? What exactly triggers her to do this??

The tail wagging is often nervousness. Something spooks a leo, maybe a noise or vibration, and they "stalk" around with thier tails up and wagging from side to side. It's part of thier defense mechanism, waving thier tail to trick a predator. It's very normal:)

There isn't another leo in the tank. It's just periodically. Nothing out of the ordinary is happening. Just once in awhile I'll look around and she'll be doing it. Is it something I should worry about?

I have noticed with a couple of mine that as soon as the food goes in they wag their tails.

I've never noticed my females doing that! Just my males when I put them too close to another male (usually during cleaning in clear containers). I'll have to pay attention to my females a bit more and see if they do it as well, but if its a nervousness thing, mine are pretty laid back!

Well, like with most animals, there is often something going on that we do not understand:) When I said that the tail wagging is due to instinct/predators, I meant that when they hear or sense something out of the ordinary they react without necessity. I have many, many leos, and you need not worry that yours is doing something strange:) Some do this often, some rarely and others never. It's interesting how different they all are from one another. I mean, you'd expect some differences/similarities, but they are all so unique.

maybe they smell a cat/dog or something off of you?? Gets them all defensive?? Dunno LOL
