ok, ive had my blood for about 10 months now, when i first got him he had a slight repitory infection, i took him to the vet got em sum shots and within about 2 months he was all cleared up. but i still cant help to notice this snake, when handled, is doing a hell of alot of star gazing, i thought before when i handled him it could have something to do with the r.i. but hes clear and hes still doing it.Other than that hes perfectly healthy, eats great, not mites, good poops, and smooth skin, anyone have ne ideas what it could be? thanks

Try turning the snake upside down on the ground. If it cannot right itself on it's own, it is a sign that the snake might have IBD(Inclusion body disease). For now(since the cause is undertermined), I would keep it away from all your other reptiles. Take it to another vet that deals with reptiles, maybe out of the city if thats the only other one you can find. It will be worth it to find out the cause. Is your snake staring straight up all the time even when being handled? Or is it just raising it's head/neck on an angle and still flicking it's tongue?

when i put him on his back he has no problems flipping right back over, and he doesnt usually do it when hes in his cage just when i open the top he looks straight up at me sometimes, and he almost always is flicking his tounge, i can only remember ocnce when he stared up and didnt do anything for like 3 minuites.

That's totally natural for a blood or any snake for that matter. That's not stargazing.

Yeah it doen't sound like stargazing, IMO he most likely just watching you. Just like in the wild if some one is to walk put on most snakes they will just sit there and stare at you to make sure that you are not going to try to attack them/hurt them. HTH

Yeah, that wouldnt be. I thought it was happening in the cage aswell...I think I read " EVEN when handled" in your top post. I wouldnt worry.
