If it is your first scorpion, you might want to consider a Desert Hairy or a Flat Rock. If you are experienced in scorp keeping then go for the Buthids.

If you think that you are experienced to go with a Deathstalker then go for it. I assume you know that they are considered the most toxic scorp on the planet. A Desert Hairy is a safer choice though. I admit that I do keep this species though and several other "hot" species.

I do lots of research on all the stuff i buy.
And i make sure i know everything about it before i buy it.

Going from Heterometreus to leirus is a big leap. Personally I would think you should start off slowly. I've been keeping scorpions for about 9 months now and I wouldn't consider keeping one yet. I personally would never trade first hand experience for "research". I'd suggest to move up slowly instead of jumping in all at once

A really gorgeous scorp is Smeringurus mesaensis, and they shouldn't be to hard to find. Try and get one of those.
