View Full Version : %50 first time feeding sucess
Today was my first time attempting to feed my new Ball pythons. I got 5 females from David, plus one 1100g supposed male ( no sperm plugs) The 3 smaller balls ate no problem, however the 500g female, 700g female and the 1100g would not eat.
So, I guess I batting .500.
I even tried dipping them in hot water and slowly pulling the rat away from them, no interest!
That's not bad for this time of the year. As of the last time I tried feeding, I'm batting .0294 (not .294) .0294. Count your blessings.
Just thought it was strange that it was only the larger ones. I assumed their feeding response would have been better.

actually, from my limited experience with Ball Pythons, it seems like the smaller they are the more consistently they will eat.. the larger they get, the less they will eat and will more-than-likely go through the winter fast that most Ball Pythons go through.. not sure if that can be a general rule or not.. would be interesting to hear from those with more experience on this topic.
